I will have to write in English since it will take for ever to write in Spanish without mistakes
Elefsina has an average maximum of 33 in July but it is the warmest station in Greece in terms of extreme temperatures.
If the problem was just one event of 48C then we would NOT be having this discussion, however Elefsina is the only coastal place in Europe and one of the few coastal areas of the world that has registered temperatures numerous times over 45.0C! In 1973 ,1977,1982-83, 1987,1991,1998,2000,2002,2007.
Elefsina is unique in Europe and Benidrom or any other coastal area in Europe can not reach over 45.0C
Seville and Cordoba have managed less record temperatures than Elefsina...
As for the links Dedalus wants! Dont make me repeat myself. My first post in this forum has the link from the National Observatory of Athens with the temperatures in the center of Athens up to 35.1C. You will see the table of results in years 2001 to 2009! It is not so difficult to find (monthly bulletins section)
Also Pireas is HNMS official station
The explanation of why coasts of Athens get so extreme temperatures must be found ...
Generally for the record temperatures of Greece go here

Note that the Observatory of Athens has registered 48.7C in Tatoi in Athens BUT only HNMS in Greece has the right to present data internationally
