Reanudamos la temporada
Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with an area of low
pressure located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles
has changed little this morning. Although environmental conditions
are only marginally conducive, additional gradual development of
this system is expected and a tropical depression is likely to form
within the next couple of days. The disturbance is forecast to move
slowly toward the west-northwest, toward the adjacent waters of the
northern Leeward Islands. Additional information on this system can
be found in High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather
Service.

Nace EARL
Air Force Reserve and NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft each flew
missions into the area of low pressure east of the Leeward Islands
this afternoon into this evening, and the data from those flights
indicated that the circulation and center of the low became well
defined today. Deep convection has also persisted with the low,
albeit sheared near and to the east of the center, which means the
system has finally met the criteria of a tropical cyclone.

En la discusión, anterior a upgrade de EARL a Huracán aunque ya lo intuían, el NHC destacaba que EARL había estado durante la tarde de hoy mejorando su estructura a pesar de los 25-30KT de cizalladura vertical y ya rozaba la categoría de Huracán, un nuevo RECON y lo ha logrado. El pronóstico para las próximas 24-48 hora es de que se mantenga la cizalladura por lo que EARL solo ganará intensidad muy lentamente, pero tras las 48 horas la cizalladura caerá a apenas 10KT (justo acercándose a Bermuda) y esto le dará el chance de ganar fuerza rápidamente mientras se desplaza sobre aguas anormalmente cálidas pudiendo llegar a Major en ese período.

Al parecer la cizalladura ha disminuido antes de lo esperado y esto ha permitido que el sistema haya ganado en intensidad y a su vez esta será la tendencia para las próximas 24-48 Horas por lo que EARL debe convertirse en el primer major de la temporada mientras se acerca a Bermuda que posiblemente vea condiciones de huracán.

EARL con 165 Km/h y visiblemente mejorando su estructura en espera de un RECON que ya está en camino. Me da que pudiera ser Categoría 3 para el próximo parte.

Finalmente EARL es extratropical ( con vientos de huracán) y nunca alcanzó la categoría 3 ( Aire seco interfirió en la circulación de EARL cuando parecía que podía lograrlo).
