El Arbizon es una poderosa montaña que ofrece una panorámica impresionante sobre el valle del Aure y gran parte de las elevaciones del Pirineo central. Su cara meridional es la más amable para el montañero pero, con todo, exige una dura ascensión a través de interminables laderas y pedreras. Es una de esas cimas que hace ilusión subir, que prestigian el currículum y que se recuerdan en el futuro. Un gigante que deja huella.
Ubicación: Macizo de Arbizon, Pirineos, Francia.
Cima: Arbizon (2.831m).
Desnivel acumulado: 1.450m.
Distancia: 9,54km.
Duración: 6h y 30min.
Acceso: Partimos desde las granjas de Lurgues, a las que se accede desde la localidad de Aulon. A Aulon se llega desde Arreau.

LAS NOTAS (La escala es del 1 al 5):
DIFICULTAD: 5. Ruta exigente a nivel físico, con un desnivel considerable y tramos muy duros. La chimenea, siendo fácil, exige atención.
BELLEZA DEL ITINERARIO: 5. Todo un espectáculo. Variedad, belleza, panorámica amplia... Es una montaña fotogénica.
IMPORTANCIA DE LA CUMBRE: 5.
El Arbizon es una de esas cumbres del Pirineo francés que recomiendo a cualquiera.

Muy bonito el reportaje. Y sobre todo original ya que no suelen colgarse reportajes de este pico.
Qué poquita nieve se ve. Que verdes se ven los pueblos franceses. Y que mal se ve el glaciar de Monte Perdido con un poco de nieve sólo en la parte más alta.

Siempre he pensado que las montañas en sí no se miden por su altitud. Lo que se mide por su altitud es solo un punto, su cima, claro, pero la montaña en sí... eso tiene otras formas de medida :D

Buenos días Gabimeteo, magnífico comentario. Es una de esas cimas poderosas, dominantes, que llaman la atención desde la distancia, desde el valle (yo me fijo mucho en eso). Con el paso del tiempo nos hemos dado cuenta de que la altura no es el factor número para subir montañas. A mí me motivan otras cosas.
Tardé tres horas en subir pero quizá lo hice demasiado rápido. A la bajada me entró una especie de pájara. Calcula en torno a siete-ocho horas en plan tranquilo.
