Ayer realicé una incursión por la sierra de Eskuagatx y regresé a casa con la sensación de que esa sierra tiene magia. Tiene algo que encandila. Ya conocía el Errieltabaso desde Urkiola, y esta vez comencé en Mañaria para subir el Ezkumin, un paseo, junto al Eskuagatx, algo más laborioso.
Ubicación: Parque natural de Urkiola, Bizkaia.
Cimas: Ezkumin (866m) y Eskuagatx (979m).
Desnivel acumulado: 835m.
Distancia: 13,27km.
Duración: 4h.
Acceso: Partimos desde Mañaria, en el Duranguesado. Desde Donostia salimos dirección Bilbao por la autopista A-8 hasta tomar la salida de Durango. Abonamos el peaje y seguimos dirección Vitoria hasta llegar a Mañaria. 9:00. Tomo la última salida de Mañaria hacia la derecha (189m) y llego a esta bifurcación. Subiré por la izquierda para bajar por la derecha.

Hay que prestar atención en este punto, ya que la senda gira para ganar la máxima altura de la sierra: el Errialtabaso. Yo seguiré de frente con la pintura amarilla como fiel guía. Atentos.

LAS NOTAS (La escala es del 1 al 5):
DIFICULTAD: 3. Itinerario que consta de dos partes muy diferenciadas. Como suele suceder, el acceso a las alturas es sencillo por pistas y caminos claros. La llegada al Ezkumin no presenta ninguna dificultad, pero hay que extremar las precauciones camino del Eskuagatx. Mire bien dónde pisa. Ojo.
BELLEZA DEL ITINERARIO: 3,75. Tuve suerte con el tiempo, porque el mar de nubes aportó belleza a la jornada. Los picos y su entorno son muy bonitos.
IMPORTANCIA DE LA CUMBRE: 2,5.
Bonita incursión por la sierra de Eskuagatx.
Precioso juegos de nieblas y mar de nubes en un entorno bonito aunque muy humanizado, pero es lo que hay.
