Espléndida semicircular que efectuamos ayer por el macizo del Baztan, esa joya situada a sólo una hora de casa. Había oído hablar del barrio de Beartzun, protegido entre montañas y lejos del mundanal ruido, y preparamos una circular modesta pero llena de encanto gracias al típico paisaje de prados, bosques y bordas que tanto nos satisface. Elegimos una cumbre boscosa y otra despejada para apreciar el sabor de la diferencia y finalizamos la estupenda jornada en Elizondo. Hasta siempre, Beartzun.
Ubicación: Macizo de Hautza, Navarra.
Cimas: Burga (867m) y Soalar (824m).
Desnivel acumulado: 546m.
Distancia: 10,49km.
Duración: 3h y 56min.
Acceso: Partimos desde Beartzun, barrio perteneciente a la localidad navarra de Elizondo. Desde Donostia salimos dirección Francia por la autopista A-8 y, justo antes de la frontera, tomamos la salida de Bera. Seguimos las indicaciones hacia Elizondo (Baztan) y, en la mitad de esta localidad, estamos atentos a un cruce que, por la derecha, nos lleva hasta Beartzun pasando por el barrio de Berro.

10:22. Dejamos el coche en esta zona de contenedores (355m), justo al lado del cartel donde pone Beartzun, y tomamos la carretera de la izquierda.

Acortamos las curvas de herradura de la carretera a través de un sendero hitado con pintura de PR (pintura blanca y amarilla) y llegamos a una especie de collado donde se asientan los restos de un antiguo cuartel de la Guardia Civil.

LAS NOTAS (La escala es del 1 al 5):
DIFICULTAD: 2,5. Recorrido sencillo y no muy largo por asfalto y sendero que sólo presenta un tramo comprometido descendiendo por el hayedo camino de la segunda cumbre.
BELLEZA DEL ITINERARIO: 4. Precioso valle de Beartzun, magníficos bosques y bonita panorámica sobre el Baztan. Los paisajes de este recorrido permanecerán en su retina.
IMPORTANCIA DE LA CUMBRE: 2.

Esta espectacular el monte, y cuantos rincones ocultos conservan los vecinos del norte.
Muy buen reportaje del valle de Baztan. Tipico paisaje cantábrico con sus prados, castaños, robles y hayedos. Hasta aquí no ha llegado esa invasión de pinos de repoblación que tanto abundan mas al oeste y espero que siga asi...

JOSEBERA: A mí me encanta este tipo de paisaje. Me vuelve loco.
UKERDI: Totalmente de acuerdo. La zona baja de Gipuzkoa y Vizcaya, por ejemplo, está invadida por los pinares y las pistas.
Preciosos lugares. Para mí, de lo mejor de toda la península.
Imaginaos si Bizkaia y Gipuzkoa no estuvieran invadidas de pinus radiata y eucaliptus :'(
