Hola, esta tarde he observado un fenomeno (no, no me refiero a Rajoy) extraño y curiosos.

Al atardecer, y visto desde Castellterçol, ha aparecido un arcoiris o parheli (no sabría decir) en el cielo, y lo extraño es en la posición que se mostraba. Si veis la foto lo podréis apreciar bien, el Sol esta abajo en la foto (se nota por el resplandor), y el arco iris en la parte superior.

¿Alguien sabe explicar el porque no aparece como si formara parte de un halo, con la posición siguiendo la curva del Sol y sin embargo parece como reflejado ya que su curva esta al revés de como se suele observar en un arcoiris de los que "tocan" a tierra ?

Se trata de un arco circuncenital, muy difícil de ver ya que necesita que se den varias condiciones para ello.

En cuanto a  la pregunta espero que alguien del foro te la responda  .

The CZA is produced by oriented plate crystals, the same crystals that form sundogs.

Downcoming sunrays enter the uppermost horizontal face and leave through a vertical side face.

The refraction of rays nearly parallel rays through faces inclined at 90° produces very pure and well separated prismatic colours.   The colours of the circumzenithal arc are purer than those of the rainbow.

When the sun is higher than about 32.3°, the rays cannot leave the side face but are instead totally internally reflected. They then eventually emerge through the lower horizontal face to contribute to the almost devoid of colour parhelic circle.

The arc is also formed by Parry oriented columns .



Smudge on the sky. Near the critical solar altitude of 32°, rays just graze out of the vertical sides of plate oriented crystals. The result - a smudge of colour almost directly overhead.

El arco circuncenital se sitúa en la parte superior del halo mayor (46º) y esta invertido también en el orden de los colores del espectro, los colores del arco iris doble también estan invertidos y se pueden ver en ocasiones arco iris supernuméricos.
