In southern switzerland we speak Italian, perhaps if I write in Italian you understand better. Without knowing spanish I understand a little bit what you write. Anyway I'm from Lugano ( the name of the region is Ticino - Southern switzerland ). Central Alps are very near from here, about 60 km. The average Rain ( year ) is about 1800 mm, in some case over 2200 - 2500 mm. Last year for example I had 2184 mm in Lugano. We have two big lakes. Average snow here in Lugano ( 280 meter elevation ) is about 65 cm in the winter.

precipitation sometimes are very intense ( because of Alp ) and also snow. Here in 2006 for example 85 cm in the city in 30 hours.
