Parece que puede desarrollarse en las próximas horas este sistema camino de Bahamas y posteriormente recurvando a Bermuda.

with the interaction of an upper-level trough and a west-
northwestward moving tropical wave.  Upper-level winds are currently
not conducive for development.  However, environmental conditions
are forecast to become more favorable late in the weekend, when the
system is forecast to be near or north of Puerto Rico.

Vamos a ver qué sucede. Me he tirado un poco a la piscina con este sistema; pero creo que tiene mas posibilidades que la que los modelos intuyen en las ultimas salidas. Es un poco apuesta personal jeje.

of organization at this time.  However, some gradual development of
this disturbance is possible by early next week when it is forecast
to be near or east of the Bahamas.

1. Showers and thunderstorms have become more concentrated overnight in
association with a low pressure area located about 100 miles
southeast of the Turks and Caicos.  Surface observations indicate
that gale-force winds have been occurring in brief squalls mainly to
the east of the center.  Environmental conditions are expected to be
conducive for gradual development of this system, and a tropical
depression could form during the next couple of days while it moves
west-northwestward over the Bahamas and then turns northwestward.

Pepe apostó y ganó. Lanzada la alerta por formación tropical inminente, cuando ya tiene fuerza de casi Tormenta Tropical. A ver lo que dice el RECON previsto, pero me da que sí, sobre todo viendo a "quien firma el parte".

Pues yo no quería ser pájaro de mal agüero y decir que Pepe se había apurado demasiado pero veo que me había equivocado. Tenemos a KATE en las Bahamas (el nombrecito me trae algunos recuerdos de hace "apenas" 30 años atrás.

indicate that the cyclone should strengthen and reach hurricane
strength by 36 hours, if not sooner.

¿Dónde está aquello del debilitamiento de la Corriente del Golfo? Se está aprovechando y bien de las anomalías positivas, pegadas a la Costa Este. Sube a 60 kts. y acompasa su velocidad de traslación, con el movimiento del aire en capas altas, por lo que la cizalladura, ni fú ni fá.

Diría que Kate es Huracán.

A ver con qué nos sorprende nuestra querida Kate. Pero viendo además que el pronostico del NHC la otorga 70 nudos en 12h.....

Pues si, el NHC ya lo designa como huracán, con vientos de 65kt y 996hPa.

Aunque su simetría es un poco precaria y no creo que tarde mucho en extratropicalizarse del todo, manteniendo mucha intensidad eso si.

En efecto cuarto Huracán de la temporada del atlántico, bastante mas que lo que esperaba, y en efecto la extratropicalización debe ocurrir en breve, según el NHC debe casi estar comenzando y completarse en 24-36 horas.
