October to December outlook for Europe and the UK
Temperature
During this period, probabilities favour above average temperatures across many parts of northwestern Europe, including the UK. Above or well above average temperatures are also favoured across the islands of the western Mediterranean also the countries surrounding the eastern Mediterranean and the Balkan States. There is a bias towards below average temperatures across parts of western Iberia during this period. Elsewhere odds are equally balanced between all possibilities.
Precipitation
Probabilities favour above or well above average rainfall amounts over most of the western Mediterranean, across Iberia and north Africa, also over many of the countries bordering the eastern Mediterranean. Over southern and eastern Scandinavia and western parts of Russia there is a bias towards a little above average rainfall amounts. Probabilities suggest that regions bordering the Alps and perhaps western Scandinavia will have well below average rainfall totals. Odds are equally balanced between all possibilities elsewhere.
Further outlook to end of February
The bias towards above or well above average temperatures continues over much of the Mediterranean and adjacent countries, also over the Black Sea and Balkan States. Above or well above average temperatures are also favoured across much of Scandinavia and northern parts of the UK. Probabilities favour near average temperatures in a swathe from southern Britain to the eastern Baltic States. No bias is evident across much of central Europe by this time. Probabilities favour well above average rainfall amounts across much of the Mediterranean and countries bordering the western, southern and eastern Mediterranean. There is a bias towards near average rainfall totals across the UK while the bias is for below average rainfall over western Scandinavia. No significant bias is evident across remaining regions.
Saludos.
