Previsiones hechas por meteorologos ingleses para este invierno:
January
"The first week of the month will possibly see the stormiest period of the winter, with the Azores High positioned to see a SW to NE track of vigorous depressions for a time, before cooler showery conditions take over from the North West. Towards the middle of the month it should become more settled but this is likely to be the result of a dominant European (Bartlett High), possibly centred over Central Europe rather than the Med. This will mean dry, mild conditions across much of the UK except the far NW. The latter part of January should see this High retreating East and temperatures returning closer to average. A continuation of the run of mild Januarys with average rainfall.
February
Temporary blocks to the West leading to northerly outbreaks are likely to be the theme of the month with snow in the usual places from this set-up. There will be strengthening of the trough over Scandinavia in the early part of the month so we could see something of a cold/mild battle during the middle of the month. At the moment this looks fairly likely to be played out over Scotland giving significant frontal snow as the Polar Front tries to resist the mild air but of course this is very difficult to determine at this stage. Temperatures for the month will probably vary from above average in the South to below average in the far North, with rainfall generally below average.
Overall
"We believe that this winter may return an overall CET that will be fairly close to the average. This would of course be a major change in the pattern of recent years and as such could be quite a shock to the system. With high pressure generally close by, we expect rainfall to be below the norm for the season. Snowfall is obviously hard to call as snow can be such a localised phenomenon but based on the findings when preparing this forecast, confidence is fairly high that setups which can lead to snowfall will occur fairly regularly this winter.
